Reflection 1

We learnt how to organise a process essay into 3 paragraphs, totalling around 150 words.

The introduction and conclusion only need to be about 25 words each, or 2 sentences each.

The main middle paragraph should be about 8/9 sentences.

We learnt how to use passives.

Process writing 1

How roads are built
Building a road is a long and quite difficult process. The following steps must be carefully carried out in order to build a good road.

First the number of vehicles using existing roads in the area is counted. Then the new route is planned. Next samples of soil in the area are taken to measure its wetness and quality. After that the route is cleared and the ground is flattened, using bulldozers. Then a thick layer of concrete is put down to make a good foundation. Next the top surface or tarmac is completed. After that, lane markers, road signs and traffic signals are added, for safety reasons. Finally, the road is opened to the public.

You can see that building a road is quite a long and difficult process. However, if all the above steps are carefully followed, a good road should be built
